Interior surfaces to clean: High touch areas – Most frequently touched surfaces like the outside and inside door handles, steering wheel, gear shift, turn and wiper signal levers and buttons on your radio and climate control unit, seat belts, mirrors, driver and passenger armrests, handles, and seat adjustment levers should be disinfected.

Basic products to clean your car – Soap, water and alcohol solutions like disinfectant wipes that contain at least 70% isopropyl alcohol are the most effective household products to kill Coronavirus according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. Allow the product a few seconds to breakdown the virus, so take your time before wiping it clean.

Do not use bleach, hydrogen peroxide or ammonia-based products in your car. They can cause damage to plastic and other surfaces in the interior.

It’s a good idea to keep masks and disposable gloves in your car. Keep a mini bottle of hand sanitizer with you to clean your hands before touching the steering wheel and other surfaces.
